Advanced Energy is currently hiring a Benefits & Leave Management Specialist.

The Benefits & Leave Management Specialist is responsible for administering, supporting and communicating the company’s benefits and wellness programs.  In addition, this role will be responsible for managing all Worker’s Compensation lost time claims, providing oversight of the workers compensation function and managing all other employee leave claims (i.e. short-term disability, long-term disability, FMLA, etc.). This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and first level support to employees and HR team members as needed. 



  • Administration of  various benefits programs including: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSA & HSA plans, and the 401(k) plan.
  • Review and communicate open enrollment materials for US benefits.
  • Will function as a contact for benefit administration activities including policy interpretation, claims appeals, benefits eligibility, collecting documentation on qualifying events and other benefits related activities.
  • Serve as a contact with benefits vendors and carriers regarding ongoing plan administration to ensure that vendor processes are in place and working properly.
  • Maintain familiarity with provisions of existing and new federal and state laws to help determine impact on benefits plans to ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125 as well as plan documents, policies and procedures. 
  • Assist with online benefits administration portal and employee self-service sites. 
  • Oversee the audit, processing and tracking of monthly vendor and carrier billing.  Includes annual testing and audit of 401(k) plan.
  • Collect data and coordinate annual ACA 1094/1095C filing requirements.
  • Working with outsourced benefits administrator, ensure benefits employee data in benefits administration portal is audited correct data that is passed to benefits carriers and that employee benefits records are in compliance with all required laws, regulations and internal policies. 
  • Coordinate U.S. wellness programs including annual health and wellness fair, biometric screening event special promotion and marketing campaigns, maintaining monthly wellness calendar,  lunch & learns, wellness education, healthy challenges and other health and fitness events.
  • Develop wellness communication and distribute via monthly newsletter, website, wellness guide, etc. Manage and evaluate wellness program performance to ensure program success. 
  • Implement and administer other fringe benefits, such as flexible work arrangements, Voluntary Time Off (VTO) program, etc.
  • Manage all  workers compensation claims, including recording and reporting workers’ compensation claims to the insurance company.
  • Facilitate the care management plan for an employee who is injured or ill as a result of a workplace accident. 
  • Partnering with EH&S, assist in the investigation of work injuries, claims and all accident reports and help prepares incident investigation reports.
  • Work closely with Human Resources, Benefits, claims adjustors, supervisors and the employee and his/her family, identify and bring forward resources to assist the employee in their recovery and return-to-work.
  • Serve as primary contact and  liaison with State and local agencies, care providers, HR, workers compensation adjustors, Health & Safety and employee.
  • Interpret and administer leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.). Ensures that the workers’ compensation leave is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers’ compensation laws.
  • Manage all administrative aspects of leaves include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with the HR Service Center and Payroll to ensure that pay is accurate and correct.
  • Manage STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships. Ensures that STD claims are coordinated with FMLA or general medical cases.
  • Assist in the creation and facilitation of leave administration and workers’ compensation training programs
  • Other duties as required.



  • Position will be located in AE’s downtown Denver office. Standard office environment; some travel may be necessary domestically.

  • Prior benefits, wellness and administration experience
  • Administration of self-insured benefit plans



  • Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a global company and interacting with multiple locations




•          A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
