Summary


Acushnet Company is seeking an experienced Global Environment, Medical, Healthy & Safety director accountable for all environmental, health & safety (EHS) and medical program execution and compliance globally. This position will provide leadership and expertise in the administration and support of regulatory compliance, program development, training, and continuous improvement with emphasis on developing and driving policies and programs that continuously improve employee safety to world class standards.


Responsibilities
  • Establish the Global Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) direction, programs, policies and procedures to assure the highest level of safety, health for all worldwide associates.
  • Ensure corporate compliance with worldwide EHS laws.
  • Minimize cost and risk for Acushnet Company by assuring Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance to all Federal and local laws in all worldwide locations.
  • Design, develop, and oversee implementation of EHS process & policies on worldwide basis
  • Develop and monitor system for United States Workers' Compensation and disability management
  • Supervise and develop EHS and wellness staff at all worldwide locations.
  • Oversee development of new and innovative programs to motivate the workforce to participate and engage in EHS
  • Develop strategies and programs to create awareness of safety concerns, hazards, and conditions and methods for practicing safe work activities
  • Implement region wide strategies from EHS expert leads to implement, educate and enforce EHS policies, rules and regulations, and to stay in compliance with local and corporate standards

Requirements
  • MS degree in Safety, Environmental, Health or related field.
  • 10 years of experience leading a Global EHS Organization in a diverse, fast-paced environment
  • 10 years in business environment with expertise in the development and implementation of EHS programs and policies.
  • Risk management experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Change-agent who has proven skills in serving multiple stakeholders
  • Strong skills in managing to target, leading teams, and executing to plan
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships across multiple layers in the organization
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy
  • Ability to assess, view and develop a clear vision and strategy
  • Exercises sound judgement at both gl9obal and local levels
  • Willing to tackle tough issues with tact and diplomacy in a timely fashion
  • Knowledge of state and federal workers' compensation, OSHA regulations, and state health laws as well as experience in managing compliance programs worldwide.
  • Must be able to create EHS policies. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Travel 25-30%
